TRACK ALIGNMENT & BENCHING EQUIPMENT

The Track Alignment equipment is used in conjunction with a theodolite to set out curves with the accurate measurement of versines. As the versine is usually small in relation to the radius, which is derived from it, it is highly important that it should be measured accurately. Firstly, it is usual practice to use cords of either 10, 20 or 30 metres. Once a convenient cord length is established, the procedure would be to fix a point well back on the straight tangent at the beginning of the curve. The position of this point i.e. a structure, so that it can be found again later.

OPTIC & TARGET STAND WITH QUICK RELEASE CAM

The Optic level stand is used for accurately measuring rail lift before and after packing. The complete stand is manufactured in aluminium tube with stainless steel fixings.

The YARDENE OPTIC LEVEL stand consists of an optic level carrier, which has an ingenious quick release CAM, enabling rapid removal from the rail. The optic level is mounted directly on to the carrier, which is engraved in millimetre increments to allow the operator to set the amount of lift required. When viewing the target, an accurate measurement of the lift can be obtained.

CROSS LEVEL TRANSFER BOARD

The use of a CROSS LEVEL TRANSFER BOARD saves time and speeds up the measuring operation. It can be used for measuring the 6ft and the 10ft gauges, and is fitted with a spirit level at a convenient position so that the trackman can stand in the 6ft or the 10ft as necessary.

It is of the utmost importance that the greatest care should be taken to ensure the straight edge of the gauge is in the horizontal position.

CANT STEPS

The CANT STEPS have several uses. When used in conjunction with a cross level board, the cant from one road to the other can be measured across either the 6ft of 10ft, by placing the cant step on one running rail and levelling to the other with the cross level board. The other use is for lifting rails and placing the cant step on the level pegs, enabling you to sight the lifting boards.

The CANT STEP is constructed in a light aluminium alloy. The horizontal edge is stepped in 5mm increments, the vertical edge is stepped 10mm increments. Both the 5mm and 10mm increments are engraved for easy use.

PLATFORM LEVEL GAUGE

The PLATFORM LEVEL GAUGE has been designed to help set the platform coping stones to the track. It achieves this by measuring both height and distance from the outside rail running edge on a level between both rails. It can be used to both set the platform stones or check and measure their actual dimensions. It has a measurement range of between 680mm and 900mm in the horizontal and 780mm and 1060mm in the vertical.

The Platform Gauge is made from aluminium so as to be both rigid and stable whilst as light and manageable as possible. It handles and is balanced to enable one person to manoeuvre and operate, with clear simple and precise rules settings.
